About Us
The San Andreas Fire Department (SAFD) is a comprehensive, all-hazards life safety agency dedicated to serving the diverse communities within the State of San Andreas. This includes every county, city, and unincorporated area. We are committed to protecting the lives and property of all residents and visitors through round-the-clock service from strategically positioned fire stations. Beyond traditional fire suppression, rescue operations, and advanced life support (ALS) paramedic services, SAFD boasts expertise in a wide array of specialized areas. These include technical rescue, hazardous materials response, urban search and rescue, maritime operations, lifeguard services, forestry management, fire prevention and investigation, air operations, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), and tactical emergency medical services (TEMS). Our multifaceted approach ensures that we are prepared for any emergency, regardless of its complexity or scale.

San Andreas Fire Department Divisions
The San Andreas Fire Department is comprised of several specialized divisions, each playing a critical role in the overall mission of the department.
Tactical Support Unit (TSU): The Tactical Support Unit is a highly skilled and specialized team that responds to high-risk and complex situations throughout San Andreas. Working in close coordination with law enforcement agencies and other tactical teams, TSU is equipped to handle a variety of critical incidents, including firearm-related events, explosive ordnance situations, and other high-stakes scenarios. Members undergo rigorous training and maintain strict standards of proficiency. In addition to their tactical expertise, TSU members are also trained in USAR, Hazmat, and Maritime/Dive operations, making them versatile responders in diverse environments. The unit is also equipped to provide advanced pre-hospital patient care with highly skilled paramedics integrated into the team.

San Andreas Forestry Service: The San Andreas Forestry Service is dedicated to protecting the wild areas, wildlife, and public lands of San Andreas. This specialized service employs highly trained technicians who are certified in a variety of essential skills, including wilderness medicine, dozer operations, aerial firefighting techniques, and smoke jumping. Their duties are diverse and critical, ranging from conducting controlled burns to maintain ecosystem health, performing trail maintenance, spotting fires from strategic observation points, conducting search and rescue operations in wilderness areas, responding to wildfires, providing wilderness emergency medical services (EMS), and conducting helicopter operations. With multiple dedicated posts and stations strategically located throughout San Andreas, the Forestry Service ensures rapid and effective response to incidents across the state's vast and varied landscapes.

American Medical Response (AMR): American Medical Response is a for-profit private ambulance service that provides both emergency and non-emergency transport services throughout San Andreas. AMR is committed to delivering efficient response times, maintaining high standards of quality training for its personnel, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment, and fostering a close operational relationship with SAFD. All AMR employees receive extensive training from SAFD, ensuring a consistent level of professionalism and competence. AMR provides both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) services, contributing to the overall emergency medical response capabilities of the region.

Office of Fire Investigations (OFI): The Office of Fire Investigations is responsible for enforcing the San Andreas Fire Code and conducting thorough investigations of fire and medical-related incidents. OFI's responsibilities encompass a wide range of activities, including investigating the cause and origin of fires, conducting comprehensive building inspections, managing fire-related permits, executing search warrants, and addressing violations of the fire code. OFI also plays a crucial role in investigating suspicious deaths, utilizing its forensic laboratory to conduct autopsies and toxicology tests, which includes advanced DNA analysis capabilities. In addition to its investigative work, OFI provides support to other investigative units through joint operations and intelligence sharing, contributing to a collaborative approach to public safety.
